INTRODUCTION TO, WHAT IS A FUNDAMENTALIST
In the following blog, all references to the Bible are to the King James.
I believe that no one can be a biblical FUNDAMENTALIST unless he believes the King James Bible is the only Bible God blesses and Satan hates and that it is God’s final authority. The King James Bible is 100% the preserved words of God.
That is my conviction. My reasons for that intolerant, bigot, Neanderthal, red neck belief can be seen by clicking any of the following links.
However, I have the spirit of love and I should remember that not everyone who rejects the King James as being the preserved Words of God is a spiritual pervert or a reprobate, perhaps that was so when fundamentalism was born but not now, not in this Laodicea church age.

I have not capitalized certain words like Christianity when they are not applicable to real Christianity. That way you will know when you read the word that it is a generic definition and not a Christian definition. That also applies to “Bible”, I will often not capitalize it when it refers to modern translations like the NIV. That’s because the modern translations are the Devils tool to destroy the faith of many Christians. Again, you may bristle at that statement however if you want to read my defense on my conviction click on the above links, but you can read the following without fear of picking up an incurable spiritual disease.
I wrote this a long time ago and I am using my notes to improve it. THEREFORE there may be places where I do not give credit to the original author. That is non-intentional on my part. I NEVER want to take credit for someone else’s work; that is NEVER my intention, so if you recognize something from another source and I fail to acknowledge the source I most humbly apologize.
I am posting this in four parts:
2- The conception of fundamentalism
3- The birth of Fundamentalism
4- Fundamentalism today
SO WHAT’S A FUNDAMENTALIST?
So, what’s a Fundamentalist? Let’s find our answer in history. Jerry Falwell writes in his book, “The Fundamentalist Phenomenon,” that Christian Fundamentalism can be traced back through history to the early Church. That makes sense because Jesus was the original fundamentalist. However, for our purposes, we are only concerned with Christian Fundamentalism here in America. That began in the late 19th century, was named in the early twentieth, and respected as a growing militant movement by the 1920’s.
JESUS was a fundamentalist.
Not many can read that statement without having a specific emotional response. Your reaction is indicative of the war going on between liberal Christianity, which is the conscience of liberalism -1st Timothy 4:2, and Fundamentalism. That war began in the late nineteenth century and like all wars was catastrophic. The Civil War, 1861 – 1865, left behind 498,332 dead, many crippled mentally and physically and homes ruined never to be restored. It was a wound that is still today oozing pain and hatred.
Soon after that war, the war between fundamentalism and liberalism began. Those forces have been fighting now for over a hundred years. For fundamentalists this warfare is spiritual, they fight not against flesh and blood but against Satan and a hierarchy of evil (Ephesians 6:12). To the Fundamentalist the casualties are the ones who have never put their complete trust in Jesus Christ as Saviour, and because of that they are going to spend forever in a place they say isn’t real. This war is about the Holy Bible. A Fundamentalist Believes the Bible is God’s gift to humankind, that it is a supernatural Book. While the Liberal thinks it to be just another book, and not a worthwhile one at that.
Liberal is a generic word. Here is a definition from “Way of Life Encyclopedia of the Bible & Christianity” edited by David W. Cloud
LIBERAL – In modern Christian terminology, “liberal” describes the rationalistic view of the Bible which denies or downplays the miraculous element of Christianity.
LIBERALISM – A label for an unbelieving rationalist approach to Christianity
MODERNISM – A label for an unbelieving rationalist approach to Christianity. Theological modernism, which had its origin in Europe, particularly Germany in the 19th century and was the rationalistic thinking of that time applied to Christianity…”
The definition continues for two more pages and if you can you should take the time to read it.
I will give the “christian” liberal this, they are true to their cause. They believe in separation from fundamentalism and they are faithful to that.
That is not true with the LIBERAL FUNDAMENTALIST
[that is a perfect example of an oxymoron, and yes you must be a moron to be one]
who wants to think of himself as a soldier of the cross but he denies what Fundamentalism is built upon separation from the world unto holy living.
They let sins of the flesh control their lives and they influence others who they ought to be helping, thereby destroying their lives also.
Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, FEEDING THEMSELVES WITHOUT FEAR: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, TWICE DEAD, plucked up by the roots;
Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall GRIEVOUS WOLVES enter in among you, NOT SPARING THE FLOCK.
Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Rom 16:18 For they that are such SERVE NOT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, but THEIR OWN BELLY; and by GOOD WORDS AND FAIR SPEECHES DECEIVE THE HEARTS OF THE SIMPLE.
Pseudo fundamentalist are worst then the worst liberal, for they are modern day Elmer Gantry’s leading the simple minded down the road to destruction, and they actually think God will give them a pass for their good soul winning numbers, or what they count as righteous works.
What does Jesus Christ have to say about pseudo-fundamentalists? Jesus calls them ravening wolves wearing a sheep costume.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 YE SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 EVEN SO EVERY GOOD TREE BRINGETH FORTH GOOD FRUIT; BUT A CORRUPT TREE BRINGETH FORTH EVIL FRUIT.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 EVERY TREE THAT BRINGETH NOT FORTH GOOD FRUIT IS HEWN DOWN, AND CAST INTO THE FIRE.
Mat 7:20 WHEREFORE BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
In the above, Matthew 7:16 and 20 Jesus tells us how we can know the real Sheppard from the false one, He says, Ye shall know them by their fruits.
What kind of fruits
Well, a godly tree produces godly fruit.
Fruit that makes Jesus LORD of their life
Fruit that is baptized.
Fruit that reads and obeys the Bible.
Fruit that is separated from the world.
Fruit that loves God with their whole heart and soul.
Fruit that will suffer for righteousness.
You know that kind of fruit.
PSEUDO FUNDAMENTALIST ARE
SATAN’S USEFUL IDIOTS.
Yet they think they are fundamentalist; They are about as much a fundamentalist as today’s Methodist and Lutherans. The only thing they all have in common with their historical past is the name.
Liberal theology is subjective and therefore ever changing, while Fundamentalism is anchored on the Scriptures. Depending on the amount of rope let out of the boat, Fundamentalism may drift but not too far. Jesus said,
…Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. Matthew 22:29
After his resurrection, Jesus scolded his friends even calling them fools for not believing the Scriptures.
Luk 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
And Jesus went on to tell them,
Luk 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
Luk 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
The apostle Peter assures us that, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy“.
Paul tells us that
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Fundamentalism is an attitude. A man becomes a fundamentalist through OBEDIENCE to God’s Word.
2 Timothy 2:1-4
2Ti 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2Ti 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Liberal theology, which was an outgrowth of German liberalism, taught in the late eighteen hundreds that
Sin is only ignorance
Man is basically good
Miracles were the result of an unscientific age.
The resurrection is only the continuance of Christ’s ministry.
That the main task of the church is to reform society thereby making the kingdom of God a reality. (That is called the social gospel)
Then in the 20th century as fundamentalism began take shape and impact Christians, liberal religious colleges and universities taught and still teach:
1] Fundamentalism is incompatible with freedom of religion
2] Fundamentalism is incompatible with democracy
3] Fundamentalism is incompatible with Christianity
4] Fundamentalism is a Christian heresy
5] Fundamentalism is incompatible with freedom of religion
6] Growing Fundamentalism is a threat to the work of Christ, to society, to our country, and to our freedom. We must all work to expose the dangers of Fundamentalism
