RAPTURE

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There’ll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be
WHAT IS THAT DAY?
IS IT happy DEATH DAY?

Now we celebrate birthdays
so
In heaven will we celebrate death day?

FOR ME – THOSE LYRICS are all about
THE RAPTURE.

THE RAPTURE WILL BE breathtaking.

IT will be THE most spectacular event of our time.

One of these days SOON

A TRUMPET WILL SOUND
GRAVES WILL SPLIT OPEN
and
GLORIFIED BODIES WILL FLY OUT OF THOSE GRAVES
to merge with their soul and spirit in the sky
THEN
WE WHO ARE ALIVE,
OUR BODY will be instantly changed,
And in the twinkling of an eye we will be in the sky.
To be with our LORD, Christ Jesus,
THE KING of the universe.
Christians have been waiting for OVER 2000 YEARS
Acts 1:10-11
Act 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

MY KIDS ON LONG CAR TRIPS
Who has not been harassed by their children with the question,
“how much longer”
My answer was always
“We are closer now then when we left”
And dear reader SO IS THE RAPTURE!

When we were saved things happened inside us.
Those things CHANGED us
BUT
when we were born again
Jesus didn’t physically stand in front of us, nor did any angel.

Did Jesus appear to you when you were saved giving you encouragement or direction, maybe a warning?
Of course not.

RIGHT NOW
WE KNOW only by faith

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

When we believe what we read in Scripture, we grow to maturity.
Just as a baby drinks milk to grow up strong and healthy, so we drink Scripture.
A baby craves milk because it satisfies him and makes him happy and we should crave Scripture for the same reason. The growing up big and strong is kind of a byproduct of our Scriptural reading enjoyment. If you do not crave the Scriptures as a baby craves milk then,
WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?

HOWEVER
When we doubt something that we read then
ENTROPY sets in and our faith rusts.

BUT
WHEN THE RAPTURE HAPPENS
THERE WILL BE NO MORE FAITH FOR WE SHALL
SEE HIM, PHYSICALLY, AS HE IS
1Jn 3:1-3
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Jn 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

THE GREATEST THING ABOUT THE RAPTURE is
when we go up
we get a glorified body
A Body that will crave God.
And hate SIN.

Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

We will HATE WHAT GOD HATES
AND
LOVE WHAT GOD LOVES

Every Christian should be LOOKING FOR THE BLESSED HOPE

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

THE BLESSED HOPE IS THE RAPTURE

WHAT IS THE RAPTURE?
LET’S use a Bible example to answer that question

Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

HOW DO WE WALK WITH GOD as Enoch did?
WHEN WE WALK BY FAITH
WE WALK WITH GOD
2Co 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight🙂

THAT means we believe the Scriptures
THAT means we read the Scriptures
THAT means we obey the Scriptures
THAT means we go to a Church where the Scriptures are taught and preached.
A church that lines up with Acts 20:18-32

Here is another Bible verse on Enoch
Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found,

Enoch could not be found because
God translated him: THAT IS
ENOCH WAS RAPTURED.

The rapture is a time when every blood bought person will be TRANSLATED. They will get a brand new glorified body.

The rapture is a time when every person who walks with God, as Enoch walked with God, is translated and taken up into the sky, into the clouds of heaven.

THAT IS A BIBLE PROMISE.
1st Thessalonians 4:13-18
is the go to passage for the promised rapture

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

I WOULD NOT HAVE YOU TO BE IGNORANT
There are three different doctrines as to the timing of the rapture.
PRE-TRIB – the rapture happens before the tribulation
MID-TRIB – The rapture happens in the middle of the tribulation
POST-TRIB – The rapture happens at the end of the tribulation

There is coming a day when EVERY born again person WILL BE REMOVED from planet earth.
GOD’S DESIRE IS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW THE TRUTH.
Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

God told Daniel in the above verse that prophecy would be hidden until just before the end game begins.

Daniel was Old Testament, Paul is New Testament, and though the unique details of prophecy will stay a mystery until the end times approach, still everyone should know and be excited about the rapture.

Paul tells us that we shouldn’t be ignorant about it.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope

The Thessalonians were excited about experiencing the rapture however, they were disheartened because some had died and they figured that they would miss it.

Paul said that those who were not Christians are to be pitied because they have NO HOPE.

Paul uses the word
ASLEEP to identify those who had died in Christ, from those who haven’t.
Christians, when they die they immediately go to be with Christ Jesus their LORD,
BUT THEIR BODY STAYS IN THE GRAVE.
CHRISTIANS CAN NOT BE DEAD BECAUSE GOD HAS GIVEN THEN ETERNAL LIFE.

JESUS SAID
Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me SHALL NEVER DIE. Believest thou this?

The soul and spirit of dead Christians go directly to Heaven. That is made clear in the next couple of verses, THEREFORE PAUL refers to their empty dead body as sleeping to separate them from those who have NO HOPE.

We should be looking to be taken up in the rapture.
we should think about it as we fall asleep.
We should pray for it.
because
The rapture is a time when we shall be with our LORD Christ Jesus

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Note that JESUS IS RETURNING AS GOD
and He is bringing with Him all the Christians who have died.
They have been in heaven waiting for their glorified body

2Co 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2Co 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
2Co 5:3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
2Co 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Every Christian, who has died in Christ, is in heaven waiting to come back with their LORD and Saviour to get their heavenly body.

REMEMBER ENOCH?
Jud 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
If you are a believer in Christ Jesus
then you have trusted Him as your Saviour
therefore
get excited because you have met the prerequisites to participate in the rapture of the church.

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

This event is exclusive to the Church, ALL those who have died such as Paul, Barnabas,
John Wesley, Lester Roloff, along with Nancy and Mike, who represent EVERY Christian
EVER born they all will one day participate in the RAPTURE

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

At the rapture Jesus is coming back
Physically coming back
There will be a trumpet blast
Not a trumpet blast of war
A trumpet blast of joy

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
How often do we comfort one another with thoughts about the RAPTURE
What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

THE RAPTURE WILL BE sudden and without forewarning
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

The Jewish wedding engagement is a picture of the rapture.

turn to Ephesians 5 and read
verses 22-33, where we find that the Church is compared to marriage. An individual man and a physical woman are married. Marriage is not a universal event.
Jesus is the husband and I should be as an obedient wife.
A Christian should be a member of a local Bible believing, Christ honoring Church and as such are subject unto Christ as a wife is subject to her husband.
She can rebel and ruin the marriage and you can rebel and ruin Christ’s reputation.

Here are three verses from Ephesians

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

What has all this got to do with the Rapture?
A LOT because the Jewish engagement is a picture of the rapture. Let me explain:

In Jesus’ day
A marriage would be arranged.
Let’s use Joseph and marry.
Joseph wants to wed Mary
Therefore, his father makes the arrangements

When the prenuptial is agreed to
Joseph then leaves to prepare a place for them.

And Jesus is preparing a place for His wife, the Church.
Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Joh 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

While Joseph is gone to prepare a home for them,
Mary waits
in anticipation of the time when Joseph will return for her.

That is foremost on her mind.
That is her top priority.
Her heart aches, as every minute seems like hours.

AND WE WAIT FOR OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.

If it takes awhile, does Mary abandon the hope of Joseph ever returning to her?
OF COURSE NOT

YET THE CHURCH HAS ABANDONED THE ANTICIPATION OF THE RAPTURE.

It is even worse then Easter
At least we celebrate Christ Jesus’ resurrection ONCE A YEAR. Like the rapture, Easter ought to be thought about, talked about and our motivating force unto good works.

We should think about and talk about the rapture
ALL THE TIME
However, when is the last time any of us even thought about it let alone spoke about it?

THE MESSAGE IS
HE IS RISEN AND HE IS COMING BACK.

When will The lord Jesus return?
BEFORE the tribulation begins.
BEFORE the Israel peace treaty is signed
[Daniel 9:27].

Commentators tell us that the rapture is always immanent. But if the rapture event removes all the Christians along with the Holy Ghost, and it does, then just how long do you think it will take for the world to go into anarchy with total chaos and destruction following? The Holy Ghost working through Churches is the ONLY thing holding back an evil so terrifying that it is beyond description or imagination.

1Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

WE END WITH THIS QUOTE FROM THE LAST TWO VERSES OF REVELATION
Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. EVEN SO, COME, LORD JESUS.
Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
