I got the impetus for this blog after reading an article in the Detroit Free Press. Some of it is printed below. The thing is not once in the entire article is there any mention of the Bible. It is all human thinking. What God wants is not even considered. Sin is doing things our way with no regard as to what God wants. That happens with individuals but it should never happen with Christian Church doctrine.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Job 35:2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?
Here are some quotes from that article:
Metro Detroit Catholics divided on attitude toward gays
By Patricia MontemurJobri, Detroit Free Press 12:51 p.m. EDT October 14, 2014
For Catholic families with gay members, the revolutionary words pronounced Monday by Catholic bishops meeting at the Vatican provided hope and healing.
Bishops meeting at the Vatican to discuss evolving family dynamics issued an unprecedented, if preliminary, document that signaled a greater acceptance of gay people, divorced Catholics and those living together.
The document said, among many observations, that gay couples can illustrate “a precious support in the life of (their) partners” and that there are “positive aspects” to heterosexual couples wed in civil marriages or living together before seeking Catholic marriage.
“Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer the Christian community: are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a further space in our communities? Often they wish to encounter a Church that offers them a welcoming home,” the Vatican document said.
“This is an answer to a million prayers. Nothing like we ever thought we would hear,” said Karle-Nelson. “It’s such a 180 degrees from what we hear from the Catholic bishops in the United States. This is going to bring them up short and they’re going to have to start thinking in a new way.”
McNally said he was stunned “to see so much lingo that is contrary or foreign to what people see in church documents.” He said the document’s language on same-sex unions and other issues contradict church teachings, so “then why not approve of adultery and everything else that goes with it?”
“It’s obviously a step in the right direction — to have openness and acceptance of people in various situations without making judgments about them in the place of God,” Gumbleton said.
“He’s made it possible for people to start thinking in a new way,” said Karle-Nelson. She and her husband, Tom Nelson, 85, were both widowers when they met at meetings in the 1990s of PFLAG — the country’s top advocacy group for gay rights. Both are lifelong Catholics, and are both parents of adult gay sons.

My heart goes out to those who are caught in Satan’s pit of fiery serpents and scorpions (metaphors for Satan’s devices). Homosexuals, the Bible’s name for it is sodomites, are anything but gay and their parents and siblings suffer agony as they would of any sin that is so divisive and destructive. If one of my children were taken in a homosexual life style or were part of any antichrist practice, abortion, fornication, drugs, criminally active, it wouldn’t make a dent in my love for them. That is what God does, He loves and He has supplied the sacrifice of His Son as the only real way to joy and lasting happiness. John 3:16 and Romans chapter five both support that last sentence.
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Rom 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
God loves the homosexual but He HATES the sin, and we should also hate it. If you have a loved one who is influenced by it then you should hate it even more. What I am saying is, hate what God hates and love the sinner as God does. Love is found in 1ST Corinthians chapter 13. If you want God’s definition of love then you should read it.
Romans chapter one is a portion of Scripture that reveals exactly what God does to a once Christian nation that no longer honors Him and rejects His Son’s sacrifice.
That chapter tells us about God’s wrath on all those who refuse to reverence His son (John 3:36), the Lord Jesus Christ. He gives those Christ rejecting nation over to homosexuality, which is a sign of national judgment to come. Here it is read it slow and think about it.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

OOPS got off the trail. This is about the difference between religions, and if it makes a difference if you are a Catholic, or a Baptist, or a Protestant. Actually it isn’t too far removed from our topic. I wanted to show how certain sins that were once verboten can become acceptable when they are personal or when they become socially acceptable. That is true for Catholics and Protestants and even for many of today’s Baptist, but it is not true for Churches that believe the Bible is God’s final authority. When I say “Churches that believe the Bible is God’s final authority” that Bible is the King James 1611. Those who reject it are less likely to trust any bible as God’s final authority. That is because how can over 200 bibles all differing from each other be taken as God’s Word? The Catholics do not even recognize the King James 1611 as a Bible. Go check and see if any Catholic priest okay’s it. Check it for the IMPRIMATUR stamp of approval the Catholic Church puts in every book it approves. You will not find it in any King James Bible. So those educated priests and pastors and scholars who tell you that the modern translations are just bringing the Bible up to date – are liars. That is not mean spirited that is the truth because those who teach that lie know the truth of that and when you know something to be true but you say something different that is lying. And the reason they do it is for filthy lucre (money), power and esteem. If you want more info just scroll down to the blog just below this one.
I was born a Catholic. Almost all my relatives are steadfast Catholics, and every one of them is a Bible illiterate, most Catholics know little to nothing about what any bible says. They believe that the Bible is impossible to understand except for the priest. Here is a truth; even the priests are Bible ignorant. I was named after a Jesuit priest and I asked him a simple question about a Bible verse someone had used to legitimize fornication (1st Corinthians 7:38). He didn’t have a clue. I do not think he even knew the verse was in the Bible. And what is worse he wasn’t even curious. He just didn’t care about it at all.
I am 73 years old and I can still remember when it was a mortal sin to eat meat on Friday, [mortal sin sends you to Hell]. I can still remember when the communion host could only be touched by a priest whose two fingers had been blessed to do so. If something happened to one of those fingers that priest could no longer touch the communion host. Now any one can touch it and you can eat as much meat on Friday as you want. Those are just two examples of many.
Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
I could get into doctrine. The Catholic teaching about Mary and limbo and purgatory, mortal and venial sins. The praying to saints and statues of worship, and holy water which Hollywood uses to burn up evil spirits, and a whole lot more hocus pocus anti-biblical nonsense.
Protestant churches are not any better. Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian et al, have all drifted very far away from what they once were. They were named Protestant because, in the beginning, they protested against the Catholic Church. Martin Luther called the pope the antichrist and taught that the church itself was Satan’s headquarters.
Martin Luther (Lutheran)
“We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist…personally I declare that I owe the Pope no other obedience than that to Antichrist.” (Aug. 18, 1520) Taken from The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, Vol. 2., pg. 121 by Froom. (In response to a papal bull [official decree]): “I despise and attack it, as impious, false… It is Christ Himself who is condemned therein… I rejoice in having to bear such ills for the best of causes. Already I feel greater liberty in my heart; for at last I know that the pope is antichrist, and that his throne is that of Satan himself.” –D’Aubigné, b.6, ch. 9.
Protestant Churches also had their doctrines anchored on the solid ground of Scripture, and not human reasoning, feelings or desires.
Sola scriptura (Latin ablative, “by Scripture alone”) is the Protestant Christian doctrine that the Bible contains all knowledge necessary for salvation and holiness. Consequently, it demands that only those doctrines be admitted or confessed that are found directly within Scripture or are drawn indirectly from it by valid logical deduction or valid deductive reasoning. Sola scriptura does not deny that other authorities govern Christian life and devotion, but sees them all as subordinate to and corrected by the written word of God.
Sola scriptura is a formal principle of many Protestant Christian denominations, and one of the five solas. It was a foundational doctrinal principle of the Protestant Reformation held by the Reformers, who taught that authentication of Scripture is governed by the discernible excellence of the text as well as the personal witness of the Holy Spirit to the heart of each man. Some Evangelical and Baptist denominations state the doctrine of sola scriptura more strongly: Scripture is self-authenticating, clear (perspicuous) to the rational reader, its own interpreter (“Scripture interprets Scripture”), and sufficient of itself to be the final authority of Christian doctrine.
Protestant churches, today, no longer go by Luther’s sola scriptura – only the Bible. They now respect the Catholic Church and share a kindred spirit with it. That old saying, Birds of a feather flock together, is certainly true here. When a once Christian organization loses its mooring it slowly drifts away from the Bible doctrine of separation, far out into a deep angry sea of apostasy.
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Only Christ loving, King James 1611 Bible believing, independent Churches accept the Bible as God’s final authority. These Churches are mostly independent Baptist Churches. The key word in that last sentence is “independent”. There are many – way too many – Baptist Churches today that do not even use the King James 1611, and many that do use it don’t believe it to be God’s final authority. There are other independent churches that go by another name then Baptist, and I suppose there are still main stream protestant churches that also are true to the King James 1611.
It is my personal conviction that everyone who believes that God has given us His instruction book should be a member of a King James Bible believing independent, SEPARATED unto holiness, independent church.
So what’s the difference between Catholic, protestant and Baptist Churches? And why does it make a difference?
The difference is the King James 1611 Bible. If it is believed to be God’s final authority there could be no conclave as to how the Church should react to specific sins fully condemned in Scripture and humanistic (satanic) doctrines . Churches that make the King James 1611 Bible their authority don’t ever change biblical doctrine. That’s because doctrine and holy living is based solely upon the Bible. Even if the law or the main stream churches teach that abortion is okay, or pornography or drugs or sodomy and even if there is an overwhelming outcry for the Churches’ toleration; Bible believing Churches will never budge. They will NEVER compromise because they know that if they do then they will no longer be a Christian Church.
1Ti 3:14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth
(If you scroll way down I have a blog titled “BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES”)
Jesus purchased the Church, the Bible believing Church, with His blood.
Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Do yourself a favor before it is eternally too late, find a King James 1611 Bible believing church. This is no matter to be taken lightly, your whole family and all your friends are hanging in the balance. God is so merciful and His grace and peace can be yours forever. Or will you insist that your church is more right than He is? If so then you are a Laodicean church member, Revelation chapter three.
WARNING WARNING WARNING
I received a comment from:
They pointed out that there are apostate King James 1611 Churches. That is true.
Be careful – Be prayerful – Be wise.
If you have some kind of background with orthodoxy then you will find out if they are apostate or not.
If you need a gauge, then I would find out if they line up with the publication “Sword of the Lord” I do not feel comfortable with that because it seems I am putting something along side the Bible and prayer and faith. I AM NOT.
The Sword of the Lord, publishes sermons from old time great preachers whom God has blessed and who have given up earthly delights to serve the risen Saviour.
Every Christian would benefit by reading it. My Church usually has a few for the taking.
Also if you scroll down the page to the very end you will find my blog on “Baptist Distinctives”
And know this we have an enemy who may try hard to ruin you.
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
People today consider spiritual things lightly. But it can be deadly. We are in a fight and we need to be good soldiers. If you are a new Christian – a neophyte – then you NEED to get in “boot camp”
Find a Church and get in the fight, for the time of our Lords return to this earth and the beginning of the seven year tribulation is near, even at the door.
